Single-output desalination keeps half the water and sends everything else back to the sea as brine. Our iZLD process (integrated Zero Liquid Discharge) keeps it all: the water becomes freshwater, and the salts become sea salt.

  1. Air is being circulated in a closed loop system.

  2. A heat exchanger heats up the air.

  3. It passes through the evaporator, where the seawater evaporates.

  4. The minerals in the water stay behind, and can be harvested from the device.

  5. The hot moist air is cooled, recondensing the water vapour in the air.

  6. The distilled water leaves the system through a funnel.

  7. The dried and cooled air is ready for the next cycle.
